Dan Kittredge

 February 5, 2017

Dan Kittredge has been an organic farmer for more than 30 years, and is the founder and executive director of the Bionutrient Food Association (BFA).  The BFA is an 8 year old non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “increase quality in the food supply.” Along with intensive seminars that are regularly taught across North America on the principles of Biological Systems for growers, the BFA has local chapters in 12 US states, hosts the Soil and Nutrition Conference (7th annual Soil and Nutrition Conference will be November 28-30 in Massachusetts. snc.bionutrient.org) and is launching the Real Food Campaign.

Known as one of the leading proponents of “nutrient density” globally, Dan has worked to make the connections between plant health, soil health, carbon sequestration, crop nutritional value, flavor and human health. Among other endeavors, the Real Food Campaign has engineered the prototype, and will be launching in November at the Soil and Nutrition Conference the Bionutrient Meter. The Bionutrient Meter is a hand held consumer spectrometer that is designed to test crop nutrient density at point of purchase. The strategy of the Real Food Campaign is to connect the economic incentives from consumer to grower to drive full system regeneration.
