Nancy Astarae Metcalf is Dr. Bronner’s Senior Marketing Manager. She joined Dr. Bronner’s in 2014 to support the nationwide public education and advocacy campaign Hemp History Week, which successfully lobbied to remove hemp from the Controlled Substances Act. In 2017, Nancy supported the launch of the Regenerative Organic Certification standards to the Natural Products Industry and continues to develop educational marketing content supporting this cause.
Other education, advocacy, and marketing campaigns Nancy has led or supported with Dr. Bronner’s include: World Fair Trade Day, Washington and Oregon’s Right to Know – Label GMOs ballot measures, Fair Pay Today, Heal Earth!, Heal Soul!, and Oregon’s Psilocybin Therapy and Washington DC’s Decriminalize Nature ballot measure campaigns.
In her personal life, Nancy has volunteered with the Bellingham Community Food Co-operative’s Member Affairs Committee and co-developed a co-operative education series for her community there. She has organized with CELDF having attended their Democracy School, and lived on and contributed to John Jeavon’s GROW BIOINTENSIVE Ecology Action mini-farm at the Golden Rule ranch in Northern California.
