Sara Hill

Sara is Sr. Director of Sustainable Materials and Products for VF Corporation, parent company to outdoor & active brands, including The North Face, Van’s, Smartwool, and Timberland. Based in Denver, she works to develop collaboration across their global brands toward achieving their publicly stated goals, including Science-Based Targets through the development and adoption of sustainable materials. Partnering with experts in the field of regenerative agriculture, Sara is driving impact by implementing plans to source, create data reporting systems, and reach consumers through storytelling, helping create a regenerative movement in line with VF’s vision for sustainable materials.

Prior to joining the Corporate Sustainability team in 2021, Sara directed Product Development for JanSport and Eagle Creek, two of VF’s Packs brands. Throughout the materials and development process, sustainability has been a passion for Sara guiding her brands toward leadership positions in their respective markets. Originally from Seattle, this self-professed “bag-lady” developed her passion for sustainable design through designing outdoor, sport and travel bags of all types for major brands including Nike and REI.

Sara attended the University of Washington in Seattle in addition to Seattle Central Community College, where she received her degree in Apparel Design and Services.
