Vicki Goldstein

 July 18, 2018

A lifelong ocean advocate, Vicki earned a Master’s degree in marine policy from Yale University. Working for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), she co-wrote the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Designation documents and served as NOAA liaison to the California Sanctuary sites. For 10 years, Vicki was the Executive Director of Save Our Shores and served on a number of state, national, and international councils and working groups. After moving to Colorado, Vicki used her experience and love of the ocean to found the Colorado Ocean Coalition in 2011. In response to the growing network of chapters around North America, she launched the Inland Ocean Coalition in 2017, whose mission is to create an inland movement that builds land-to-sea stewardship. Vicki is bringing her experience of ocean protection, networking, and the belief that community based ocean conservation can occur anyplace in the county. “You don’t have to see the ocean to protect it,” is Vicki’s mantra and she is sincere in her belief that if people realize and are supported in their potential to be leaders, that we can make a positive contribution to ocean protection in our inland communities. Vicki is currently Founder and Director of Special Projects at Inland Ocean Coalition.
