Ryan Fletcher is Director of Public Affairs and Media Relations at Dr. Bronner’s, the top-selling natural brand of soap in North America and has worked full-time with Dr. Bronner’s since 2007. Ryan directs Dr. Bronner’s Public Affairs and Media Relations (PR) department in assisting the company in representing itself in accordance with its stated mission and core values.
The department’s mandate and responsibilities include: managing the brands global PR strategy and presence; helping develop the brand’s communications, campaigns, and multimedia projects; facilitating media relations both on behalf of the company, its products, and advocacy work; managing working relationships with public relations agencies and contractors around the world; managing and assisting with select activist, philanthropic, and advocacy related partnerships and projects including support of the animal rights movement, and the company’s All-One International Initiative that engages Dr. Bronner’s global distributor network to support charitable and activist work internationally, as well as the company’s product donation program in response to COVID-19; and serving as a point of contact for the company to media, non-profit organizations and activist initiatives, other companies and institutions, as well as the general public. Ryan also advises on Dr. Bronner’s Executive Council.
Ryan and the PR team have facilitated thousands of media placements on behalf of Dr. Bronner’s in the world’s leading media outlets and has created a series of short films about the projects and farmers that Dr. Bronner’s sources its major ingredients from around the world, namely, Journey to Serendipol and Journey to Pavitramenthe. Ryan also manages the company’s annual giving program in support of animal advocacy organizations working to address the terrible plight of factory farmed animals, promote more compassionate and sustainable lifestyle choices, and defend ocean wildlife around the world. This program has directed a total of over $3.5 million in donations between 2013 and 2021.
In addition to his work with Dr. Bronner’s, Ryan runs the mission driven communications firm, Movement Media, and is a lead advisor on public relations and communications strategy to Fair World Project, Regenerative Organic Alliance, and Sun+Earth. Ryan lives in Washington, DC and is a proponent of cooperative living and a vegan lifestyle.
